Q: Is my visit covered by Insurance ?
A: Health insurance plans vary from employer to employer. If you have extended health benefits or were injured as a result of a car accident, your treatment will probably be covered. It would be in your best interest to verify the details of your insurance coverage and policies in your health manual, or speak with your employer or Human Resources department.
Q: Does a doctor need to give me a referral ?
A: You do not require a referral from a doctor to make an appointment for Physiotherapy or Chiropractic treatments. It is important to note, however, that many health insurance plans require a doctor's referral in order to reimburse you for some or all of the cost of treatment.
Q: What shall I bring with me to each visit ?
A: Please bring any medical documentation with you in order to help us fully understand your medical history. We also ask that you come in comfortable clothing for the treatment.
If you are planning to have your visit covered through your health insurance plan, you should bring your extended health benefits card as we may be able to directly bill your insurer for your treatment.
If your injury is the result of a motor vehicle accident or work-related, we will need the contact information and details of your automobile insurer and/or your case manager.
Q: How does billing work ?
A: Our services are not covered by OHIP. In many cases, your extended health insurance coverage my cover some or all of your treatment. You are responsible for any deductibles or other fees. Keep in mind that some insurance plans require a doctor's referral to process your coverage, so check with your employer prior to starting any treatment.
If your treatment is the result of a motor vehicle accident or work-related injury and the funding for your treatment has been pre-approved, the insurance companies associated with your case will be billed. You will not be required to make any payments.
If for any reason you need to cancel your appointment, please inform us at least 24 hours in advance as any cancellation fees that arise due to missed appointments will not be covered by any insurance companies.
Q: What can I expect on my first visit ?
A: We want to make your first visit at our clinic easy and stress-free. Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time and have any medical documentation with you. You will be welcomed by one of our highly trained clinicians, followed by a one-on-one assessment in regards to your injury. After the examination, you will be given a report of the findings and given a comprehensive treatment plan. You can then ask questions to clarify any of your concerns and, if the situation permits, we can begin the treatment that day.
Q: How long does treatment last ?
A: Treatment sessions last anywhere from 20 – 40 minutes.
Q: How many visits will I need ?
A: Each patient has very specific needs in regards to their injury and overall condition. The severity of the condition is a large factor in deciding how long your treatment will go on for. The approximate duration and frequency of visits will be discussed with your clinician at your first appointment once they have been able to adequately understand and diagnose your injury.
